WRX is sweet for driving...only driving.

Interior is bunk and exterior is bunk.

Get an AWD Turbo DSM. Probably the easiest import car to make really fast...my buddies AWD runs 12's with a handful of mods. Tons of after market support...should be very affordable...don’t have to worry about warrantee...

Sorry to hear about your max.

Hopefully you will still contribute to the max community.

You going to sell your AGX's?

So why is it your bailing on the car all together? Is it just this accident or other things abut it you dont like?

yea...he'll take a MAJOR hit on depreciation...and the fact that the car was in an accident....If I had to guess now....I'd say Steve will be lucky to get 18-19 on a trade-in...

other things i don't like about the car also. i'm gonna drive a WRX tomorrow maybe and see how i like it. if now i'm gonna look for a 98-99 GSX. i'm not gonna trade my car either. i'll sell it outright to some doof.

and yes i will still be selling intakes and other things from frankencar, if i have to give stuff to people to let them test it then that's what i'm do. i love the whole "I Own a business" thing

I vote S4 from those choices but aren't they are out of production until next year or are looking for a used one. I saw a 00 S4 in the local paper for $30K (Cincinnati)

I really want to like Audi and BMW. Great machines when they are healthy but their reliability is not on par with Japanese vehicle and expen$ive when they need repairs (from talking with friends who have those brands).
Most people can afford to buy the car but can they afford to drive it.

I'd say, go with the S4. Wouldn't suggest E-crips.
Call me weird, but I'd also suggest a Z-coupe. (Yaaaas, the hatchback!!)

that's what i'm worried about, 98-99 GSX for under 20k with low miles and i can work on those easy, i have before my friend has a TSI Talon. and the WRX would be under warranty but so would a certified used S4 from a dealer but 30K for a two yeaer old car.

we know whatever car he gets will become a ricey frankencar anyway. and then it will break!

But at least Steve is a nice kid, and I'm glad it was only the car that was hurt. Did you catch the name on the truck or anything? Sue 'em!

Steve--
My friend has a 12 second DSM. Not the most reliable car out there. Usually it can't even finish the quarter mile between his house and taco bell without breaking down.

Here's a thought.

Buy a 350z !? or a G35 coupe... or a used 300zxTT!! Don't leave the nissan family man!

but if you do...sell me your agx's? That is if they're not bent.

I'm looking at S4's right now. You can find 00 S4's with relatively low miles for the 30k range. The great thing about these cars is how easy it is to get more power out of them

How about this one?
$37,500 for a 00 with only 800 miles and LOTS of mods already.

Sorry to hear about your car man. I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of it. I would suggest finding a used M3. You can pick up a 97 with pretty low miles for less than 25k. Sone bolt ons and they have 285hp at the crank.

same with the Subaru WRX......mod them....and launch them hard enough and you'll snap that weak little input shaft they have....not a fun way to spend 2 grand getting it fixed.

Plus they are UGLY...

If I was in your situation right now....I'd find a nice STOCK 97-98 Supra TT.....probably run you about what the S4 will...but very modable, and reliable...and IMO nicer that all the other cars on your list....even the S4....

DO NOT GET A SUPRA!!!!!!!!!!!!
they are heavy, handle very poorly, and are very ugly. Yes, they can be fast, but they are very expensive to get that way, and they have this horsepower plateau past which almost no one can succeed.

Expensive to make go fast? I thought BPU is only about $1500? Doesn't that give you another 100hp at the wheels??? Not bad if you ask me. Stock ecu, injectors are turbos too. I haven't read of any tranny or driveline problems on anything less than 650hp. Again not bad.

What other car can be modded for less that would give you that amount of power and reliability? Maybe a Buick GN but only if you want 1/4 mile car and that American interior and suspension.

Even a S4 w/ a chip/exhaust/intake wont' come close to 400 RWHP. And that is alot more than $1500 I believe.

it's about 3400lb ..
go to pocono raceway and watch them roadrace, they are possible the best handling car there..
Ugly , that is totally your opinion i think they are beautiful

Turboback + Re-wire of STOCK fuel pump + 22psi= 425 WHEEL hp ...

and I have never heard of a plateu .. i know many, many people whom i speak to often that DAILY DRIVE 600+ whp supras...

Yeah jeff you right .. less then 1500 for BPU

ok i feel better now, i'm done

I have to agree with the crowd, the Supra is a modifiers dream. With a little bit of money you can get these things into 400+Hp at the wheels.

Check out Sport Compact Mag, they did a comparison with 8 HOOKED-UP cars (Supra, Integra, Ferrari, a hyndai with two engines, etc). The supra was hanging with the Ferrari in the track course. I think they are a good all around car.

But how much does insurance run?

How much facking crack do you smoke?!?! Supra's are the most awesome cars to mod. At 3400 lbs it's no lightweight, but they do manage to pull .98 g's. That's incredible in anyones book. A BPU supra will run low 12's in the quater at 120+. They have getrag 6 speed that shift like a dream, and one of the most reliable engines ever made. 600hp on stock internals is not something an ordinary engine can do. I think you should read up on supras before you go bad mouthing them.

Even at 3400 pounds it is not very light but if you think about it it is only about 200 or so pounds heavier than us. The 5th gens it is even closer. I would love one anytime to mod out.

MKIV SupraTT...

The MKIV Supras are kind of played out though. Plus, finding one at a decent price is hard. Even an used stock one will cost you over $20k in most cases.

Well, I would take a played out Black Supra TT BPU++ and about 500hp any day of the week. To me, I would rather be "played out" and 2 miles ahead than trendy and sportin' neons. hehe

i'm not gonna get a supra, as much as i want insurance will be outrageouse at this point, im head over heels into my car and dont want to spend another 30K. i'm gonna drive a WRX in a couple days and see how i like it. i don't like the headlights but i found these 3 pod ones that look hot with hid's are under 1k then fog light covers are like 100 or so. chip it out, intake and exhaust and be in the 13's with AWD drift style. it's no max but i think i need something different, i'm 19 and on my second family sedan. i love the options but..... god i don't know. i want something newer for 25-30k not a 95-98 car out of warranty.

yup i'm 19 and i rushed into this car, got all excited i like it but now what i expect for 28k, rattled since the day i got it, 6-spd was poorly done, nissan service SUCKS *****, and now the accident. i'm gonna give up a few creature features and get something sportier and right now i think that's gonna be a WRX.

This is why you buy a 3rd gen Ve 5 Speed with cash and later on you buy a newer car like S4 or T5. I will always own my max intill it dies and not have to worry about payments
