Idea of an intake

It just hit me, why can't we design an intake system where we have cold air intake and pop charger on one system. We can create some sort of a devise that first keeps the air going into the engine from the cai at low rpms and then as soon as we hit high rpms it switches to pop charger. Or has something like this been done?

we've thought about something similiar at frankencar, but it would be very hard to do without moving around lots of stuff like the battery and having tight bends and a expensive butterfly assemblie with a RPM
switch. it would cost like 400 retail from what we've looked into. it's a good idea but hard and not cost effective.

Too bad it is so expensive and that the battery would have to be relocated. I think most people would rather move the battery and get the intake.

OH please, don't even bother, an intake is an intake, and I can care less now.
Steve, you're a nut job, and obviously, you suffered mild head trauma.

This set up is now in ToyLet's car to test something out, what's in my car, look in my sig and the last line of No Y-Pipe and No Intake should clue you in somewhat of what is really under the hood now.

Use your HAI and/or Frankencar mid pipe or PR/Cattman mid pipe, its good enough.

I'm not getting ****, this topic on intakes has been whored to death lately, w/ the selection out there and 2 respected members of the .org community now offering intakes, whats the big deal about having the benefits of a POP and CAI in one ?
In either case, each has a benefit and a disadvantage, but ultimately the CAI does produce more HP which I can only assume you want ? Correct ?

As for my banning, believe me, understanding why I got kicked off the .org, has nothing to do with my tone on the forum. I've always been this "****" about certain issues.

If you feel my content has gone downhill and my tone has changed, maybe its because I need to make the change to avoid what I went through w/ Jamie. As helpful as I can/might be(according to Bill) I can speak my mind still, but if you took it the wrong way, I appologize.

-Maybe its the recent adrenaline from my car.

I was just joking around, and a bit annoyed at more intake threads, the Steve comment...he knows Im kidding.

i tried to make it useing a second throttle body that opens and closes the pop charger, theoretically this will work, its just hard cuz i had to use prefabricated pipes that make fitment terrible, as soon as i find a place to make the custom pieces for me, i go back to work on it.

There's been a whole thread on this recently, about a cheap mod to do it. Just route the cold air to the pop charger, rather than move the intake to the cold air.

Check out Str8din's (sp?) intake set up. It's pimp. Ram air+cai+pop
very cool.. I was talking it over with a friend the other day and I came upon an interesting theory...

What happens when you have a cold column of air coming into a chamber surrounded by an outer body of warm air...?

I assume you all have a basic understanding of physics so you'll know what i'm getting at..

Should check it out steve
