Jaws

The K&N drop-in was put in today, car was cleaned up and it was the first real day of spring-type weather, so I decided to take the long way home from running some errands. I was cruising along for a while beside a pre-S4 928 (I'm thinking '83-'85), but we were caught in some traffic and I thought nothing of him. We both turned of at the same intersection and I was ahead of him. I had just shifted into 3rd (about 50kmh-30mph) when I see the lights behind me come up quickly. I floored it and he caught me when I hit about 70kmh (45mph). He had about a half car length on me before I started to reel him in. By about 140 (85mph) I had a half car length on him, then I shut it down as we were coming up on traffic. I have no doubt that had we kept going I would have pulled on him even more. I got beside him at the next light and he wouldn't look over. Before the flaming begins remember that the older 928s only had about 250hp and were pretty beefy cars. I know that I would not have beaten one of the S4 variety. BTW first race with the new car, and I still have a smile on my face.
