Ford SVT Lightning Antenna mod

I was chillin' with my friend with a SVT lightning yesterday and got to thinking about his antenna. It's the short fat black one about 14" long and fits perfectly on that truck.

I think Cheston has this type of antenna on his Minima, but i'm not sure.

I like my retractable one, but I think the SVT one would look pretty tight on my black SE with all the stuff i've done to it.

Anyone have any pics, opinions, or idea's on this?

if its like the FUBA style antenna, a few guys have already done that, it looks much nicer than the stock antenna IMO!

Check your PM's!!

BTW, When you respond to my PM can you also give me a pic of the APC billet antenna as well.

I couldn't find a Lightning with the newer antenna...well my friend has one on his 2001, and I think it came that way stock, but it looks soo tight...other lightnings I have looked up have long regular ones

How did you remove the power antenna. It seems like there is a harness that goes to the motor unit. When I disconnected that the last time, I noticed the remote doors did not work. I would love to replace the unit with a flexible fixed unit like apc but I just need some direction on what to do with the power antenna unit. For what it's worth, I bent the antenna backing into my garage that wasn't open all the way...

you have to use the mast to mount a new antenna on I threw away the motor part and all...all I have is the mast for a connection to the antenna wire
and you keep the black plastic piece that goes on the outside of the trunk to help with holding the new antenna....

email me.....

I can install springs, stabalizing bars, wheels, emblems, dualies, mesh grilles, ect. myself...but one thing I fear is the antenna

Could you please tell me what a Mast is ? And.....when I get your antenna in the mail...I might have to ask you a question or two on the install if your cool with that.

I know you told me it would be easy but I don't trust me.

the mast is the antenna/tube the antenna itself slides into when it goes down...
