Painted Brake Calipers

I want to paint my brake calipers red, but the guy at my shop said it wasnt a good idea, because it affects the brakes. He said, he wouldn't do it, but I wanted to see if you guys know anything about this. Any help would be appreciated.

as long as you paint the outside and don't paint the springs or the piston.. you will be fine..

exactly...as long as you don't just take a spray paint can (bad idea anyway) and just spray everything in the wheel well, there is no negative effect to the calipers or brake system.
