udp hurts airbag???

just installed an udp (asp) and was wondering if it has anything to do with my recent blinking of the airbag light.

i called asp and they told me i had to increase my idle by 100-150 rpms to have the alternaotr charge the battery while idle. if not, the battery will drain while idling. i THINK the airbag light goes on when:

1. there's a bad connection somewhere (which i doubt since i didn't touch anytihg airbag while installing the udp)
2. there's not enough voltage out put from the battery.

i'm thinking the latter. what do you think? does anybody have this problem?

in the mean time, i'm charging my battery to see if that will turn the light off.

The UDP shouldn't have anything to do with the airbag system. The airbag system is just a set of sensors that, when triggered, set off a pyrotechnic charge which inflates the bag. Nothing engine-driven about it.

thanks. my question is though is if the airbag runs off the battery in any way?

Well yes it uses battery power... But I very highly doubt it would ever cause the Airbag light to come on...
