How do i remove....

How do i remove tree sap from the front of my car. I went to auto store and got some of that tree sap remover but it didn't work. The tree sap just smeared and now theres a big white spot on the hood. Ive heard people say to use paint thinner but wouldn't that damage my paint?...Well if anyone knows any other method, please let me know, thanks in advance.

PS....and yes i did do a search

3M's tar and adhesive remover worked great for me on the "new" sap but not so well on the "old" sap that was under my bra for months. dont let it stay for too long!

good luck.

bug and tar remover, let it soak first, not too long.

if that fails, try WD-40 or zippo fluid on a cloth.

if that fails, use a detailing clay bar make sure to use lube!

do NOT use paint thinner. oh and in all your efforts cept the bar, make sure you don't scrub too hard. use a soft clean cotton cloth.
