My muffler hangers in the rear are banging against my trailer hitch. Despite my efforts to reposition the hitch slightly it still does it after the flex section warms up and expands thus pushing the muffler rearwards. I first sliced open some fuel hose and wrapped it around the hangers. While this worked well for 2 weeks or so, it eventually wore thru. Any suggestions on stuff that will not wear thru this quickly?

 

You could try ordering Cusco exhaust hangers...I think they are made of Polyurethane instead of rubber...

just take the trailer hitch off.
that is what I did when hangars from my muffler started banging.
I think the hitch is for shipping purposes anyway.
