98 Cleared tails...but I got a question

So, today was warm enough and I was bored so I install the clear tails that I got from greddymax. I installed them and it was straightforward and easy. But I have a question. There is a black weatherstrip on top of each tail light that came off and I try to put it on but I didn't put any adhesive to restick it. It is just held on between the tailight and the body of the car. My question is will water leak through the gap and get inside the trunk. I know first hand how water leak through a talilamp and mess up your trunk. (long story). I compared the stock taillamp and the clear out one and stock one looks tight with the weatherstrip untouch. sorry so long help me out with this one. It's going to rain tomoorow so any answer will affect me messing with it tonight. thanks mike

if you're talking about the little rubber piece on the edjes, then I don't think they matter, as long as you have plenty of that black goo sealing the light. I warped my right light so my rubber strip doesn't even come close to touching the car, and I'm fine.

yeah don't worry about it. I warped it cuz I wanted to redo it, and got impatient with the oven and it warped. You can't really tell(unless you're me ) By the way, my name's mike also.
