Q for the ppl with SC probs...

Were your problems with the SC itself, the rest of the kit, or your tranny? I heard something was wrong with the Vortech V1, so Stillen started offereng the kit with the V2.

I just had a silly idea after reading an old issue of Turbo that was lying around. There was a white Neon with a Vortech V5 SC. The V5 is intended for smaller displacement engines, and I was starting to think that maybe it'd work on a Max too. If the probs were with the V1/V2 SC only, could the V5 be an option(assuming nothing's wrong with the V5, either)?

Earlier versions of the V1 <em>kit</em> had a few bugs that were worked out. My only problem had to do with a nipple on the oil-drain plate that was a different size than the nipple on the V1 which caused the hose clamp to cut through the oil-drain hose. Stillen replaced this part and I haven't had a problem since.

V2 kits have had several problems according to my research. Installation/fitment in the engine compartment (auto trans), bizzare engine revving, etc. to name a couple. I have not yet heard from a V2 owner that did NOT have any problems with their kit. Hopefully these have been ironed out by now.

Thanks...

My reasoning was that maybe the V5 would be a bit cheaper, since it has less boost capacity(I don't need too much anyway). And if the V5 was free of the problems associated with the V1 and 2, maybe it'd be a good idea.
