Me vs 4 Contour SVTs

There was a big Contour SVT/Taurus SHO meet in my city this weekend, so naturally the place was crawling with SVTs and SHOs.

In all I raced 4 Contour SVTs. The first one was from a 20 or so roll to about 80, he came shooting around me after we both turned left on a green arrow. As I saw him coming I got on it, and promptly slammed the rev limiter in 1st, something I've never done before. He popped about a half length ahead of me because of that small mishap. In 2nd I reeled him back in and was .5 cars ahead of him by 60, shift into 3rd and its over for him, he let off with me about 2 cars ahead, so I let off as well.

2nd race was on the way to the AutoX this morning, there were two of them, again we were turning left on a green arrow. I slowed WAYYYY down because the train tracks just after you complete the left turn are absolutely insane. I go across the tracks at about 5 mph. Contour #1, who was directly behind me apparently was not lowered, as he didn't even slow down for the tracks, just kept on going at a pretty fast pace (but not flooring it) around me. Contour #2 got on it just as we were crossing the tracks and by the time I was clear of the tracks he was about 1.5 cars ahead of me. So of course I got on it, by the top of 3rd (90mph or so) he'd been reeled back in and I had about a 2 car lead.

Race 3 was on the highway, just a short time ago. A 3 lane stretch of I-94 heading west out of Kalamazoo, towards Chicago. I was tooling along on my way home from work at about 70 in a 65 and I noticed blue headlights coming up on me. The contours split me and both slowed up, on either side of me. So from about a 65 or 70 mph roll we got on it. They appeared to be an even match for eachother, as they seemed to be about the same distance behind me when I shut it down. I had probably 6-8 lengths on them by 110mph.

I'm sorry for how incoherent this post is, I just re-read it and I'm rambling quite a bit, but I'm tired and not about to re-write it.

lol...good job Neal. Your car is just too fast for the Contour SVT. Any idea what they run in 1/4 mile?

I smoked one at the track and I had a bad Y pipe but thats cheating though, these cars beat most hondas with mods this guy supposely is the fastest Ford out there, he runs low 15's I guess he thought he could take me but freaked out when I popped my hood to let my car cool off!!

Great races and you were fair from what I am reading you let them punch it first, thats usually what I do l let them go first.

They run about mid 15s or roughly about the same as the 4G Maxima.

Heheh, not all 4G maximas. I've never even run a 15 second 1/4 mile, not even when the car was stock. I ran a 17 once though haha.
