I went to Sullivan Tire to have some tires installed today and they f'd up my car. Once again someone jacked up the car on the wrong points and bent the lip. I was illin' on the manager because I had just told him about the experience I had with people lifting my car the wrong way. So he says that he'll use the lift that connects to the axles. Did he use the proper lift? Hell no!!!
So I'm in the waiting room and I look thru the window into the garage and see that the car is in the air. I decide to see if they lifted the car properly and therefore I have a serious attitude now because they didn't. Now I know how it feels to just get rid of a car when things just keep happening to it. I know its not the end of the world but people need to wake the hell up and pay attention to what they're doing. Every car can't be lifted the same.
Thankfully I have the Honda in case of an emergency but the car will be heading back to the dealer to get fixed on Sullivan Tires account.

I went to Costco to change my tires one time and for some reason the guy had the idea that he was going to jack it up from the front with his jack somewhere near my oil pan, I proceed with "hell no, put it on the lift!" As he put it on the lift, I noticed the Cat was sitting on the lift leg and the car was somewhat on a Slant. I couldnt take it anymore and if it got damaged they would pay for it. I just watched in horror with hope it wouldnt fall over or something.

Are you talking about the lip underneath both the doors? Behind where a sideskirt would normally go? If so, Sears bent mine. It doesn't bother me, but I can only imagine what the guys with bodykits have to go though! So you can get this repaired? How much does it cost, and wouldn't they need to repaint that portion of the frame?
Thanks,

I know the feeling. Once I took it for a state inspection at a local gas pump and they drenched the right side of the car with some lubricant, and didn't even clean it off! It was fairly transparent so they must have though I wouldn't see it. My @ss! I inspect the car every time I get it back from the shop, actually everytime before I drive it! But I didn't even ask them to clean it as I though they would have done a horrible job, so I just b*tched at the manager. BTW Deezo could you answer my question above? Thanks

Sorry about that man. I took it to guy around the way and he charged me $135 to straighten it and repaint. That's a very good price. Being that I'm not paying this time, I'm taking it to the Nissan dealership I use for autobody stuff. I don't know what they're going to charge.

Re: I wasn't going to post this but I need to vent
Today, I took my car to discount tire to get all 4 balanced and rotated. Well I have kuhmo ecsta 712's and for those that know they are unidirectional tires. I was out there from the time they started until the time they finished and I prevented my wheel locks from getting messed up and also prevented the tires from getting on the wrong side. They could have really messed up my Saturday had I stayed inside to read the latest Sports Illustrated. Same thing at quick lube places. I stay out there and shoot the crap with them and if they are messing up or trying to change the air pressure in my tires I tell them how it is.

Are you guys talking about the pinch weld along the side of the car? One of the jacking point is the begining of that pinch weld.

Yeah Tony, but they keep putting the jacks in the wrong areas.

I would love to do that but its against a garages policy to have customers in the work area, so I try to give them respect. I do inspect and check to se what they're doing.

I know what you are talking about. If they put it too far towards the middle, those pinch weld will bend.

Yeah, I know the stroy
Before I go into those places. I try to make it a habit to take my wheels off myself, put on my 15s and have them work on my 17s. I re-install them afterwards. I'm tired of their carelessness. Last time this tech balanced my wheels and the damn wheel weights flew off!!

Not only that, but over time the wheel balance machines loose accuracy. Sometimes, the "balanced" wheel isn't any better.

I only wish I could do what you do but I don't have the space or time now a days.

The car goes to the dealership tomorrow to be repaired.
