Easy Question: How to take off bolts

On certain parts of my car, such as the metal part of the valve cover there are about 6 huge bolts. They look to tightly screwed in to take off w/ a socket wrench. What power tool do you use to take it off, im gonna polish it up sometime. Do they have attachments to drills that can take off a bolt? Whats the best brand, the most for the money is always best, where can i get 1?

Leftie=loosey Righty=tighty

Use a socket wrench or open/boxed ended wrenches.

If you are asking this type of question, I don't recommend power tools. Too easy too strip or break a bolt/nut

The hardest part about working on cars is taking out the bolts!!

The task could be done in much less time if only the bolts would come out like planned. Another problem is never having the right tool to do the job.

I'm curious about removing the valve cover as well. I don't seem to have any sockets that fit in those bolts.

Go to Sears and get Craftsman. They are the best tools for the money and they have a lifetime warranty.

To break big and tight bolts, use a "breaker bar". It will depend on the size of the bolt. If it's a valve cover, a 3/8ths will do. If you are working on suspension, use 1/2".

Get a Craftsman portable tool set for around 130.00 and buy the breaker bars seperate...

Here's a link to what I have for a portable set... Craftsman 159pc tool set

Sorry for ****in ya' off homie.... No hard feelings...

Also, they do have attachments for drills... DO NOT use them to break bolts, only to draw the nut off after breaking it. You will burn out your drill. I have a Dewalt 18V portable power drill and even that won't break a tight bolt. Always use a breaker bar/ratchet first.
