problem with power steering. HELP!!

Today was extremely rainy. When I was turning my steering wheel became very jerky. Every 1/4 turn my steering wheel stopped and started, jerky. It was like anti-lock brakes, but with my steering wheel. Anyone know what the problem is and what I should do about it?

i know that, but i'm saying that might be a possibility and you're feeling the feedback in the steering wheel...that is what happens to me occassionally because my tread is wearing down on my stock tires, and when i take some turns in the rain, my steering wheels jerks a little and i just hold it firm and it keeps control...just tires slipping...i was suggesting that

I'd suggest your power steering belt. Maybe it came loose somehow, some slack or slipperiness. Check you fluid as well. DOes your power steering groan like you have Chewbacca from Star wars inside Mine used to do that. There was air in the system. Easy fix. Turn the steering ALL the way to the right, wait a few seconds, then all the way to the left etc. Keep doing that till the sound disappears.

sorry dwapenyi,
I probably was writing my reply the same time you posted. you just beat me too it.. Good idea though. I was thinking that it might be some slippage with the belt also.
