yea i know its still not the true real one, but it looks bigger than i care to have my car. I would look at it, but prolly be more drawn to the altima more because of its overall appeal.

I agree with you. The 6th Gen Maxima is not going to appeal to many people on Maxima.org (myself included) because of it's size. I hope that it doesn't end up being a beached-whale.

It doesnt look that big to me. It looks to be the same width as the accord, just more bulky on the outside. I think it looks fairly decent except for the grill but it will probably be one piece like the G35. The big question is what the drivetrain is.

Flash from the past...

Remember these old pics? Looks like the rear logo and license plates switched places, but it still looks similar to me, especially in the C-pillar area, tall hoodline, etc.

April Fool's right? How many years are they trying to stay off the C&D Ten Best list, it's been 7 so far. This one will guarantee the full decade and then some?

I hate the HUGE @$$ on the 6th-gen prototype (as well as the current Altima). Looks like Eurotrash. Like a Jetta or something. Will we never again see a classic sedan from Nissan?

Also, what's up with the huge Nissan hamburgers on this photo of the 6th-gen? Now they're putting huge logos on the rear of the car, in addition to the front? One of my biggest problems with 5th-gen Maxes and Alties is the HUGE honking grill logo. Is the 7th-gen gonna have a 3-ft. wide logo and Nissan billboards on the door panels???

You guys can't even see the taillights...why are you bashing the design? You can make out an outline of the cars body contours and stuff but you cant see everything. Too early to judge...from what I see it looks good.

You didn't happen to notice if there was a rear diff? I have no doubt that its the new Max as there is a family resemblence to current Nissan products. It is not a new Altima (too early) or a test mule (too refined). Don't look at the wheels, grill or tail lights as these are irrelevant.

The M45 looks sweet, but it's definitely a big luxury sedan. 4.5L V8 and no 5speed (automanual shifter thingy). Why can't Nissan make a smaller/sportier version that has the same general body?

It is a very nice looking car. It does appear that the tailights are covered, so I'm a little confused as to how anyone can rate them. Why are so many "Maxima Enthusiasts" bashing the new design? It's not even into production yet.

Isn't the Avalon based upon the GS300/400? Maybe this design(6th gen) is based upon the Q45? So many people are mad because of the increase in size. Maybe ya'll should consider the Alty or even Sentra if you want a smaller sedan. You don't hear the bimmer folks crying about the size of the 7 series. If they want smaller, they'll jump into a 3 or 5 series car. The Maxima has been a bigger car since 1995. I applaud the increase in size.

Goobers, keep in mind that the tail lights are OBVIOUSLY covered in vinyl or plastic to change the look. it's not even the same friggin color as the car.

That means the tail lights will look nothing like those on a final version. it's a piece of crap that someone stuck on there to disguise the real look.

Congrats Brian on getting these, and I have no doubt that these are real. For a prototype vehicle this thing is actually not disguised all that much. Yes it has some vinyl on it, but most of the prototype pictures I have seen on other cars have discolored vinyl, body panels that are modified in really weird ways and have no manufacterers logos on them at all. I'm sure some car magazines would be very interested in them.

I have a question that I have always been wondering. Why is it that all cars with manufacterer plates are all Michigan plates? If Nissans base is in CA, and most american made cars are in TN, then why aren't there CA or TN Man plates on the car?

A speculation: because that way there's no easy way to tell if it's a domestic Motown-designed car or an import. (Although it should be pretty clear by looking at the prototype in many cases.)

I wonder the same. FORD is the same way. And a ferrari in my parking lot at work has MI plates. Maybe they can get away with stuff in MI.

Ford? No **** Ford has MI plates! Hello, DETROIT? The actual manufacturing plants may be all over the country, but the Big Three all are headquartered in Michigan.

Well, it looks kinda weird, but I'll wait to see what it looks like when on the market. I tell you what though, I could care less about styling - heck I almost bought a WRX (one of the oogliest cars on the road!!). If they stick a powerful engine in that and possibly make it AWD, that would be sweet!! Nothing like a s$$tload of power that makes a car suddenly much more attractive.

Many people think the 5th Gen is ooglie too, but not those of us who own them - heck we don't have to look at them when driving!! Let the losers in their Hondas talk about styling... As they watch us fly by them!
