If you have the spindle lug nuts ... they provide a key ... is that a universal key or can anyone else with spindle lug nuts use their own key to take off your rims?

Also ... if you get lock nuts ... is the key universal or specific to the lock nut you have? Just by looking at it I'd say it's a universal ... but what do I know?

 

The key on 3 of the 5 lugnuts holding my wheel is for the tuner lugs -- universal.

The other 2 are different wheel locks from the nissan dealership. When I changed wheels afew weeks ago for the summer, I had lost my old key for the set of 1 lock-nuts. I went to the dealership and they pulled out a kit with about 24 different styles of locknut adapters. So they're semi universal, but unless the wheel thief is a real professional with those kind of tools, he won't have em.
