I beat one a while back, heres the story.

I was driving my 95 5spd max, it had PPC headers/Y-pipe, Stillen: Intake, aluminum flywheel, centerforce clutch, cat back-exhaust, UR UDP, RT cat and 235/45/17 Sumhitomo tires.

We lined up at a local street race event and he confirmed he had a M3(97ish) with a 5spd, I said uhh ohh. So we counted to 3 and took off. He got the jump on me by about one car and he kept that one car lead up until about 50 MPH where I started slowly pulling him in, then at about 60 MPH he grined 3rd for a sec and I evened out with him and by 90 MPH I pulled a nose on him and we shut it down. If he did not gring 3rd I would have been on his front door but seeing that I got a bad launch I think my car was a little quicker in the grand scheme of things.

2 M3 race. Some people think it was rebadged becuase I smoked him so bad but I don't know. I was in my 2002 6spd max merging onto the highway with the M3 and I blew by the M3 rather quickly and pulled multiple car lenghts on him. I think it was either a 95 or 97 auto or maybe a rebaged 328. What ever it was he was racing.

what kind of mod did u had

CAI and Y Pipe.. however.. you can't look at mods.. you have to look at driving ability.. most of my races involve corners.. and most people don't push their cars beyond 100 around corners..

when i raced the M Coupe it was on the merrit in Connecticut and he wasn't pushing his car around corners like i was..

I ran dead even with one in 2nd + 3rd, before i had ypipe.. oh, I forgot to mention that he ate me up in 4th. I'd like to run again now w/ y. He was stock '96 I believe.

I asume you mean the pre 2k m3?

I did on the 405 freeway in California just a few days ago. It was an E36 and I'm boosted so no big surprise there.
