Supercharger vs. Reliability

Well I've been thinking about either selling my car and getting something new, or keeping it and putting some mods on it. I've read about some SC's and liked the HP gain, but was wondering about the upkeep after installation. Another question was about the price, I've seen in the high $3,000, but how much is it after you put all the other stuff to make it run right. Any info would help, thanks in advance.

How about a variable intake and mods?? It's no SC, but since its' NA, reliabilty won't be hurt and performance will still increase appreciably. If you get a POP, Y, B, maybe a 5th gen muffler, and the VI, that comes to about $1500 for everything. You get a car about halfway to an SC in terms of power, but total reliability of a stock Maxima

Make sure your car is ready for the extra power of a SC.

If you have a stock clutch get a aftermarket clutch. If your Auto you may need a auto Tranny cooler....

You can get a V1 supercharger sounds great. V2 are quiet, but you may want to upgrade the plastic pulleys to metal like I did. Now reliability, if you install it yourself you know how to take it off, you can always send it to Vortec to get fixed. I did, and had no problems with it so far!!!

upkeep are simple things watch over it change the belts and oil once in awhile if you stay stock boost it's not much to worry about...if you go from there you gotta change some other things here and there it really just matters how far you wanna take it.

Are we talking stock SC setup, or small midget, extra gumption setup?

But anyways, maybe I exaggerated a smidgen
