Start my Maxima!!

My dad is a greenhorn ******* and he has decided to punish me by not letting me use my car. he put it in the backyard and did something, most likely disconnected something, under the hood so the car wont start. he is a mechanic.

can anyone tell me what he might of have done or disconnected so that i can connect it and start my car?

bad Description: the car sounds normal at very start, i put the key in, turn and it sounds like it is about to start but just doesnt. it goes, raa tinginginginginginging, i turn the key again, raaa tinginginginging. it never goes raa tinginginginginginginVROOM.

he didnt disconnect the terminals from the battery. i think the problem might be something about the starter.

please help
any suggestions would be appreciated

LOL! I know exactly what he did. I'll let you know in about a week or whatever time you Father decided to punish you for.

Just don't kill your battery or starter trying to figure this one out!
If you don't know for sure, don't bother trying.

sorry to say, but.. HAHAHAHAHA

Anyway, do you know where the fuse box is?
I don't drive a 3rd gen, but, it's probably by your left knee when you
sit in the car...there should be a panel covering the fuses -- pull it off.

Then, find the fuel pump fuse...all the fuses should be labelled...
BUT, if your Dad took out the fuse, you need to put another one in.
Also, it HAS to be the same voltage (?)...well, the fuses are numbered
(either 5/10/15/20/25) so, make sure its the same one...HOWEVER,
the fuse could ALSO be in the engine bay, in which case, don't bother.

Hope this helps...My advice: If you honestly don't know where the
fuses are, you shouldn't be messing with the engine...

Hey bud whether you like it or not, your dad did this for a reason. I wouldn't try doing anything, or putting whatever back together, you might screw something up and get in more trouble for doing it anyway. I know my parents wouldn't be too happy if I started it up and took it when they took specific measures to make sure I didn't. Its up to you but I wouldn't screw around with it.

Even if you get it started, what are you going to do, run away? Get real bud, suck it up and take the punishment. Don't flame at me for giving you sensible advice.

If I were your dad, I'd put my foot in your a$$ for that attitude. But i'm not, so you're probably lucky he's just "teaching you a lesson" by taking your car away for a week. Hey, u know what? there's always the city bus.

Are you that ignorant that you can't express yourself without foul language? No wonder your father punished you. You got punished like a child because you act like one. We don't curse and act like idiots in this forum so maybe you should find a new place to post.

Somebody please moderate this moron!

whoa whoa, calm down everybody. a lot of the people that have responded are older people and no offense but you older guys seem to like to always jump on teenagers. truth be told, a lot of times it may be right, but we don't know this guys circumstances. we don't know anything about it. now, i'm 19, so i can kind of understand where he's coming from. when you go to college, you're on your own, then your parents pull something like this and its like you're in 5th grade again (i'm not saying its not deserved - just stating the other side), and when the guy comes here asking for help from people he figured would be cool. and then he gets a bunch of people preaching (sorry to say it, but you guys did come off really high handed) and so he gets p*ssed off. I'm not saying he's right or everyone else is right, i'm just saying that we don't know the whole story and parents (including dads) can have lapses in judgement too. So don't be too quick to jump on the kids back, though BasketBaller, if you're still reading this, you'll get mor ehelp from the old mechanic type guys with politeness, something i've learned the hard way...

BTW, sorry I can't help with the problem, i'm not that good under the hood (at least not on a car )

I think there's a lot to be said about your attitude when you go to multiple car forums and are unable to get the help you need..

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....

from that other page--->

"I"ll help you. It sounds like he put some gas de-stabilizer in the tank. What you need to do is add something to make the pH of the gas more stabil. A large bowl of sugar usually does the trick."

I think this method may just work...

Well, if he comes back, my advice to him is:

If you feel as though you are grown enough not to deserve your dad taking your car away, then try talking to him and telling him what you told us. Stealing your own car is just showing him more how irresponsible you are. You are supposed to be in college. If you can plead your case and show some maturity and remorse, he might let you have your car back. If you take it back, he might just sell it altogether. Your call.
