What could cause a sunroof to leak out of the blue?

Drain tubes stuck?
My sunroof has a tendency to leak too ... out of the blue, water will start dripping from the overhead switch/maplamp piece. I pull it off and there's water underneath.
The seals on my sunroof are not as good as it used to be so now, I close it, then re-open then close it again just to make sure it seals correctly. If I use the tilt, I will slide the sunroof open and close to 'hopefully' prevent it from leaking.
So far, no leaks ... my only permanent fix is to replace the seal around the sunroof.

The sunroof in our cars does not "seal", nor is it made to totally seal up. There is a water channel around the inside of the roof assembly, the water that gets past the sunroof is supposed to drip into that channel and drain out the 4 tubes in it. One tube or opening is in each corner. Use compressed air to blow them out and the water will drain properly and never make it into your car again.

I learn something new every day! Well, I know my drains are not clogged, so even though it doesn't seal, it probably allowed more water in then the drain holes could handle. Hmm, I wonder if some of my drains are clogged. I'll go check. Thanks njmaxseltd

this might only apply to 3rd gens, but i thought there was only drainage in the front of the car, this causes my sunroof to leak whenever it rains and the rear end is lower than the front end, causing the water to flow to the rear and not to the front where the drainage is. so now i just make sure i park so the front on my car is always lower, etc and ever since the sunroof has never leaked (except the couple times i forgot ) but if there is drainage in the rear, how do i gain access to it to clear them out???
