Yes the process is called a trade-your-car-in-and-buy-a-2k2-6-spd. A swap will not be worth the money for a 2k2. Just trade it in.

No, it is really called trade-your-car-in-and-buy-a-six-speed-and-lose-thousands-of-dollars-in-the-process.

no no no...

It's called you-should-have-bought-the-bloody-6spd-to-begin-with-now-you're-screwed-either-way.

Thousands of dollars to do a swap, or...
Thousands of dollars you'll lose by trading in so soon.

It'd be easier to just trade in and you'd probably end up spending/losing the same amount of money.

Edit: I just saw your other post. If you want performance just mod. The auto's are fast too. With mods (intake/y-pipe/exhaust) they're only a couple of ticks slower than the 6spds and with the automatic you also get consistency so that's a plus too.

Yeah but a person who would even ask such a question, it seems understood they have money to burn. Common sense says a conversion is gonna cost more than a thousand anyway. Lots of kids have mucho deniro these days, and lots of shops would love to take it too.

If its a new 2k2 why didn't you just it as a 6 speed manny trany? Why would you even consider a mod like that to a NEW car?

This guy must think you can just strap on a stick shift to the console. This mod cost me 5K in my Mustang, AOD to a Tremec 5 speed. In a Maxx, you would go dizzy with the $$ ! I love my Auto. Thats what I wanted at this time. I have owned a 5 and a 6 speed ( LT1 )....

a 5th gen would be a waste of money...especially a 2k2...first off, i would have gotten the stick from the get go and the trans would be mad expensive....i don't think it would pay to get conversion....

If you trade it in

Be sure to get the optional LSD with the Tranny. It's only a $300 option. An aftermarket will run you about $1,400 plus $600-800 for labor. Do it right, from the dealer and it's even covered in the warranty.
