Should I shave my @ss?? I don't wanna do anything I might regret...

I've seen guys maxima's such as Anthony's ny96max with shavage, and it looks tight. Since my car is black with clear/red's and duals, I think it would look good without the fat M A X I M A there. More custom and clean. I have a few buds in me right now so I don't wanna do anything I Might regret right now.

I have my calvin lee hamburger with red backround that I custom made. Here are three pics, one with the burger, one clean shaved, one how it is right now. If I shave it all i'd get the keyhole painted black.

Right now

With

Without

Thanks Mike!

Yeah I think it would look good if you shaved it. But there's no need for you to do any work because when I get there on the 28th i'll just make sure that I blow by you so fast that I peel the paint off your car.

No, I just like to joke with people all the time. I really don't care if we race or not, but I will be there on the 28th of this month so maybe at least we can get together. Are there anymore org. members in the Orlando area. Maybe we could have some kind of meet or something.

Hmm...I think thats too short notice, but there will be another time.

There is me and pearlalizinmax2k in lake mary, (alot of hooked up max's but not alot of orgers), and ya there are alot of Orlando maxima's, check out the southwest forums.

Smooth..I will go check it out but I think it's just the angle of the picture...I might shave everything if it is indeed offcenter.

Decisions decisions

"Should i shave my @ss" that alone sounds wrong...

i actually think it looks better with just MAXIMA, if you think it looks big maybe you can try the 97/99 MAXIMA its a little shorter in width

shaving it all looks good, but if you're gonna leave something on, leave the maxima on and get rid of the hamburger. i'll look much better. i first got rid of the hamburger and then eventually the letters about a month later...

I personally like having the "m a x i m a" back there. Gives the rear-end some attitude - so to speak.

Re: Should I shave my @ss?? I don't wanna do anything I might regret...

Craig's copying me, I started a poll 5 days ago whether to shave the hamburger on my 95 SE
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ight=hamburger

Craig, I say shave the hamburger only. I like the spaced-out M A X I M A

Also, if you shave everything off, how are 'em Honda boys gonna know what smoked em? They're gonna see duals and think it's a TL ... we don't want that now, do we?

Since when did I start to plagorize rocketman

So it's

1 for Shaving it all

2 for Shaving M A X I M A, leaving the burger

4 for Shaving Burger

But that's the thing, I ALREADY had the burger shaved. I want something new. And while replacing my gold maxima to chrome I chipped off some paint, and when I shaved my emblem I chipped some as well, so if I take it off I gotta paint it at the body shop, which = $$

Your right about the honDUHH's..when I smoke people I don't want them thinking it's ANYTHING but a minima..

Now see I'm the opposite...check out my homepage. Shave the 'M A X I M A'....save the 'burger.

I don't even have a Maxima (yet) so I'm sure my opinion doesn't count, but I think the @$$ looks stark naked without the M A X I M A there. That font is so tight, I think it's a huge factor in the Maxima's overall looks. So I put in a strong vote to keep them both there. But it's your ride. And if you're bored, go for it, I guess...

It's a good point about people seeing your car pull away from them not knowing what killed 'em.

BTW, that's the illest dual exhaust I've seen on a Max, Craig.

Yours is beautiful, too, flyry. Makes the 3rd gen look that much more intimidating.

Hey, I have an idea. It's probably been suggested before: if anyone wants to be a dork, shave off the "X" and the "I" from "M A X I M A", maybe reposition the letters and then you have a big fat "M A M A" on your trunk.

Masaccio,

Chinkzilla,

What about this guys...what if I shaved the burger, painted the keywhole black, and somehow painted the M A X I M A gunmetal? or painted black? Is this possible to do? Any photoshopperz are appriciated.

i think with the clee hamburger and a clear led spoiler light would look best. but with your 95/96, the emblems might leave adhesive residue in the paint and the letters are all seperate, would be something to consider if you want to put them back on later. (for resale, etc.)

Well, I already took them apart once, so I f#cked up the paint underneath. I was impatient and took them off with a flathead screwdriver, and chipped the paint

My birthday is coming up so I was just thinking as a present my parents could pay to get the trunk repainted...any idea's of what that would cost? Also, would they have to paint the whole thing or could they just paint the front face?(where the emblems are)

The whole thing or you will have a fine line where the top and front meet. Should cost no more that $200 for the whole thing.

Well wouldn't they have to take the whole thing off my car, take off the spoiler, strip, paint, then reinstall it all? That seems like it would cost alot more than $200.

Yes that is the correct procedure (except you forgot removing tails), and it should not run you any more than that. The reason it not that expensive is because there is nothing tricky to repainting a trunklid. Most parts of a car have a sections that must me masked or heavily dissasembled. The drunk does not and should be fairly easy.

if it's not bad paint damage, your local mercedes/bmw/infiniti type dealers probably use a touchup service. (the one where i live is called "colors on parade") they will lightly sand the entire "flat" surface where the letters used to be, then he will tape off everything and shoot the sanded area using the exact matched paint. here, that amount of surface area will run you under 200$. check if there's a colors on parade near you @ http://www.colorsfranchise.com
