Well.....he walked me

After working on my money pit (ie new house), I decided to go out and cruise. As I'm cruising down a long well known "street strip" I see the GP headlights and driving lights
coming my way. I do a quick U-turn a ways in front of him and he slowly pulls along side. As we're pacing at 45mph I see the passenger pointing to race. I rev up and grab 2nd.
The GTP is a little over 1/2 a car ahead when the race starts. Immediately he jumps out (starts when he hears me rev up to shift into 2nd ) and takes the lead with about 1 1/2 cars and appears to hold it from 60mph to
80mph. After 80mph he starts walking me. We shut down at 105mph or so (I was into 4th). He had a solid 2 1/2 cars on me by the end of the race. We pulled over talked. Last friday night he ran a 14.2@96mph. To add insult to injury he had a guy and girl with him too. Oh well, it was my first run with 3.4 pullied GTP with an intake, U-bend delete, and a catback (I think). His GTP like many is quite a sleeper.

It's OK Dave.....

Although you lost, at least now you know what you're up against (his 1/4 mile number)......save some $$$$ and go get yourself a supercharger, then we'll see who walks at the end.

In my opinion, there's no way a NA V6 like ours can take on a modded force induction engine....

I showed a pullied GTP my taillights BAD last week on the bottle...it was at a roll from about 50 or 60...I walked him 3-4 carlengths by 120 he was pretty quick.....faster than the 98 cobra I raced the other night...that thing was just pitiful on the highway....

I raced a pullied GTP at the track saturday. On that particular run he ran a 14.59 to my 14.63... closest drag race i've ever had at the track. I don't know what his best time of the day was, but mine was a 14.46... unfortunately he got out of the hole on me and I was playing catch-up...

I raced a friend in a quite modded GTP (Smallest pulley they make) From 60-90 he beat me by about a 1/4 car length. He says he needs headers cause of all the boost. He walked me bad from 30 though.

Some guys are running as small as 2.6, but most don't dare go smaller then a 3.0.
