Pics of what happens when someone rearends your parked Max.

These were taken in ... October? of last year. I never had em scanned, but I gave the duplicates to Madd Max last week and he put em through for me. Some turkey drove into my parked maxima, obviously pretty fast, and ran off before anyone even saw it. I came back to the car, didn't even notice cause it was dark, and started driving away to hear the inside of the fender clanking against the wheel. I stopped, looked at the side, said "holy **** someone dented my fender, that's like $300" .. Walked around to the back end, saw the mess, and said "holy ****, that's a lot more than $300."

Insurance covered it, didn't total it. Cost about $9500 Canadian .. Morale of the story: Be careful where you park!

It's been fixed since then, and although I haven't recleared my tails, my max looks like it does in my sig pic now.

$9500 canadian? thats what....$5500 US or so? that seems like A LOT of money for something like that. i'd would have guessed somewhere around half that at the VERY MOST. what had to be replaced?

Thanks Craig .. Quarter Panel, Trunk Lid, Bumper, Stillen Kit, Lights, Spoiler, . Bunch of stuff on the inside -- no idea how they did it (ie, inside of the trunk, spare tire well, bla bla). Pollution control gizmos on the left side (you can see some of it hanging down in the 2nd pic) .. I figure $9500 Canadian is pretty high, I probably coulda got it for $7k, but I wasn't really in the mood to shop around, especially since my insurance was going up either way because the bugger ran off.

I just dumped it and said "oh my god, fix it, make it better, and get back to me when you do" .. Three weeks later, I had her back

I will say the job was done pretty damn well. You can't tell that it was in an accident before! All the panels line up well and hte paint is good.

Also bodywork in Canada is expensive!!

Wow, sorry about your ordeal! Did your insurance company give you any hassles about non-stock stuff that was damaged on your Max? like rear Stillen skirt?

Insurance was pretty good about the whole thing. They didn't like the fact I came to em with a $10000 bill and nobody to claim it against (cause the guy hit & ran me.) But other than that, the place who did all the bodywork were the same ones who installed & painted the kit for me, so they made sure everything got taken care of as far as "did he have this before?" business.

I'm surprised the stillen kit held up as good as it did. If it had been fiberglass, it'd have been wrecked. With the way it was, you could have just busted out the heat gun, and have been good to go (minus the paint.)
