It's still in the car, but shattered in a million pieces, with nothing but the tint holding it in I guess. Looks like they did it with a pellet gun. Shot it 4 times. I get in my car to go to work Saturday morning, and I can't see $hit trying to back out. One shot penetrated completely, two others hit and cracked the glass pretty deep but didn't fully go through. The 4th shot hit the car just to the side of the window and made a small dent and chipped the paint off. I'm so ****ed, cuz I have basic full coverage pretty much, and a $750 deductible... I know, rediculous. Well, I called the glass doctor and they said for that window, it cost $599.49 plus tax. Guess who doesn't have $600 bucks laying around. If I did, my car would be faster than what it is. Has anyone else had to get that window replaced, and how much was it?

Yeah, this really sux, cuz I had just washed it, and it was nice and shiny and clean, and I was working on some custom painting on the inside... it's not gonna look good with a back window shattered though. I can't stand people who don't respect others property!

i park my car right outside of UCLA every night and i get random keyings every month. this kind of crap makes me so furious!! i dont even have any enemies! this one time some drunk frat punks decided to trample on my hood! i already got a BIG scrape on the rear quarter panel and dents/chips in my hood. AND to top it off, i just got my freaking car 4 months ago!!! YES, with my own money! NO, my parents didn't give it to me for Hanukkah. this kind of stuff makes me want to sleep in my car every single night so i can confront these jerkhoffs!

I know how you feel, I live around the same area and I just got my car keyed yesterday, a foot long in the rear quarter panel all the way to the metal. I wasn't too happy.

 

That's the kind of senseless sh** that pi$$es me off. Destroying someones investment, while they're not even there. I don't know how they think it's fun. Sorry to hear man.

 

ya, who the hell would key my car? i dont even know anyone that hates me so much that they would walk all the way over to my place in the middle of the night just to key my car. i make an extra effort to be a cool guy and treat everyone nice, regardless of race, sex, etc. Is this what people do these days to keep themselves entertained? it seems like a national pastime for our generation. So there's actually a guy out there that just walks around all day keying cars or slashing tires just for fun? Most insurance companies greatly reduce the deductible for vandalism, or remove it completely, especially in the case of broken windows.

File a report with the police, and call your insurance company.

I had someone hit my car in a parking lot, and they waived my deductible completely (was $500). My insurance is USAA. They were so cool they didn't even want to come out and look at the car or see pics....

That's kind of odd, the same thing happened to my friend's car on Saturday night.

 

do you carry glass coverage on your insurance? I do and decided to replace my windshield after 3 years of tailgating. Total cost 3 dollars. one buck for each year of insurance...
