Good to hear Nissan is doing good
but I'm still not sure about making Maxima V8 and bring the price over $30,000. I mean come on....in reality, if you are spending 30-35k, would you want to get a Maxima, especially over the yrs Maxima has been a 20something K car

Top 10 Uses for Nissan's New-Found Wealth

10) Fix the Altima's bloody interior.

9) Dump some cash into providing at least "average" customer service and support instead of whatever they call that shia they give us now.

8) Put some decent paint on the next Maxima...

Anybody care to continue?

Hmmm, get rid of the Altima, and take the Maxima back to it's roots.

Who's the "dirty Frenchman" you referred to? Do you mean Ghosn? Renault is indeed a French company, but the president of Nissan is from Brazil, I think...

6. Make the perfect Maxima. A New 3rd gen body. A great black leather 4th gen interior. A rod style 6sp vq3.5L.

Ahh......I love my 93!

Yeah it was Ghosn, that was a joke if it wasnt obvious by the multiple smileys. I have no idea where he's from, I just enjoy mocking the French.

Mocking the French can be fun, but Ghosn is from Brazil.
I actually bought a small amount of Nissan stock so I am happy.

Look at it this way, in 1999 a Maxima sold for $2600 below invoice. Today it sells for invoice, and even someone on this board posted they got $400 below invoice with a $1000 rebate. That's a pretty good improvement as far as how much Nissan is getting for the Maxima, which contributes to their net profits. Every car got a $2000 rebate in late 1998, including Sentras and Altimas.

But as you can also see from the article, gross sales went up only 3% over a year's period when cars sold like hotcakes. That's why the Attorney General of NYS is pushing for reform, because many people cannot delve into the analyst's info, and they get duped. Would you invest your $$$ in this company with that kinda growth? Have to pay a humungous dividend imho to make that happen. 3% growth is nonexistent....how fast did Dell grow from 4 billion to 30 billion+?? Dang fast! Their pc's got dirt cheap and yet their margin increased big time due to efficiency, not raising the price.
