Gauge types

What's the difference between electronic and mechanical gauges? Which are more reliable\accurate? They seem to cost about the same.

Re: Gauge types

Electronic use sender units in your engine bay to send the info to the gauge, where mechanical you have to run a line into the cabin. Get electrical, unless you really want to run things like oil and fuel in the cabin with you...

Thanks for the help, I searched the internet and found the answers. I originally searched and www.autometer.com has the answer, but their website is down. I'll go with electronic, don't need oil leaking into my cabin
