Hood Scoops ...... got one..?
Im looking into molding a hood scoop on. For REAL Forced Air with an optional 50/50 blocking for heavy rain, Mainly to force cooling to the engine and force air to intake.
does this idea sound right?.
ive never seen a hood scoop. anyone try this?.
thanks.M-dubya

i think a functional hood scoop would be vry hard to make because of where our intake is located, but if you manage to do that and make the hood with scoop conservative and not overly flashy, i think you might find some buyers...

i forget what company makes them, but someone makes an attachment for mustangs that mounts on the underside of the hood where the scoop is and attaches to their airbox. try and find that and you may have a better idea of what youre gonna have to do.

this isn't a very hard idea...just take the hood to a body shop, have them cut a hole in the area of the intake's position and pop a hood scoop on there...then fabricate a cover for when it rains. now will it look good...IMO...NO!
you'll get coolerr airflow though, but do you think it will be that much more effective???

even a non-functional scoop hood that looked good would probably sell on this board...
it all depends on looks and price though.
I dunno if this makes sense but...

it didn't work...
click the link, it wont work
delete the filename but keep the rest of the address
you will be able to get into the images dir and then you can click on the pics
geocities will work like that sometimes, just delete the filename, hit enter, and even if there isn't a main directory there, you can then type the filename in and that usually works
