will this setup make the intake sound like the franken car one?
or is this gonna make it sound like a CAI with that rumble at idle?

It wille be louder than any other intake on the market... and at WOT you might want some ear plugs.

This is louder than any other intake, from idle to WOT. It will be similar to the sound of an intake but louder. It is just plain loud. We did it to my friend's Maxima and I think it is just annoying (it catches too much attention).

No, it's not a fartcan. The sound obviously doesn't come from the exhaust so it's not that bad. But yes it is loud down low when normally driving, and deafeningly loud at WOT. I honestly can't vouch for power gains and I wouldn't put something on my car that catches attention unnessecarily (well, okay the license plate ). Plus everytime I race him I beat him with just my cone.

well i just finished the hybrid intake...the sound while cruising isnt loud at all..maybe i overestimated.. you hear a very light growl starting at 2.5k RPM then it gets louder as it gets higher..it doesnt really get LOUD until about 3.5-4K. if you can take just slightly louder than stock sound..you'll be ok. i took pics and i'll post them in a few minutes in case anyone wanted to see.

Well take it from me, DO NOT TAKE THE VENT PIPING FROM THE DRYER!!!! I did that and my mom got extremly ****ed off at me. I was going to buy a new one but didnt want to put everything back so i figured i would experiment with hers then buy a new one. when she found out, well... its an excuse for her to pay for mods now(that doesnt work wither btw.)

Memo to all who use pvc piping to make their hybrid intakes; don't use it! When heated up by engine heat it creates gas fumes that can harm your engine. If you're going the cheap intake route get aluminized steel tubing from an exhaust shop and paint it with 3 coats of acrylic paint, inside and out. The reason for painting it is that the paint creates a heat shield that helps the air stay cool, which may help performance.
