My wife caught on like 3 years later, I want you to drop my car I was like what, but prior to do that she never cared.

My mom she hates it boy leave this car alone.

mom and dad don't mind it but they hate the ride. I occassionally see my mom flooring it for that intake growl... and my dad thinks it looks sporty so that works for me... my brother hates it though, thinks its a waste of money. some of my friends think its a waste of money too, but i enjoy it and thats all i can say.

I think the "fully support" is what gets most people. Parents tend to dislike modding at first but get better as time goes on (as long as you aren't too excessive). My girlfriend doesn't mind as long as I don't spend too much time/money either. To everyone who isn't into cars we are excessive :P

hehe they sure do especialy when i spent almost 4 grand on the audio system in my last car but when i started bringing home trophies and money from competitions they were like "good job"

 

Parents complain about it.....untill they see it on the car. GF just complains all the time.

 

My girlfriend loves it.....but ask Bags533 about his girlfriend, she ABSOLUTELY hates his car, it is so funny hearing him talk about his girlfriend's hatred lol...

My parents didn't like it at first. My ex didn't like it either. No, that's not the reason why we broke up. My parents are a bit easier on me now, I'm not saying they support me, at least they don't nag on me as much. They say at least I don't get into "trouble" since I focus mainly on my car. So I guess it's a good thing.

 

My wife is all for it. She knows it's my hobby. My dad thinks my car is very nice and my mother thinks I'm flat out crazy.

we/us men have to have something to do in our spare time we need something to take apart and put together fix...etc...etc....

my wife says nothing she drives it everyday...and loves the looks and props the ride gets so she says nothing.....the TV's keep our son's busy also...

 

Everybody hates my car. My GF thinks it's her biggest competition. My parents give me hell for spending so much money.

 

parents don't like that i spend all my money on it (and they don't know the half of it) i told them the intake "sounded cool and gave me better gas mileage" g/f likes it but not when i spend too much $$$. friends love it... but most importantly I LOVE IT

Mom doesn't care about modding, she thinks it is my money and I can spend it how I want, will even buy me mods for gifts if asked for and still talks about how she misses her old car.

G/F's in general didn't really mind but I think one felt I did too much to the car, even if it looked better because of it. Not that I have a lot done to my car.

 

My fiance used to hate my car, then she got into the whole thing. Her Integra is more crazy than my car, fully molded body kit, full custom stereo, nitrous, big brakes front and rear, chromed out engine, custom interior, everything. And the best part is it's all paid for by sponsors. So she has no problem when I do something to my car. I get a TV, she wants one. I get the SC, she's researching turbo kits for her car. I have 19"s, she's getting them now too.

My parents on the other hand, don't really like my car too much. They get on me for the cost of it, but then like to show it off to their friends. They make me pop the trunk and the hood all the time.

G/F=its ok i know you love your car but you also love me, yea im in germany so i can save money going to leave with 15,000 in bank so 4000 for furniture and 11,000 for car ok, its ok i have a job too. DAMN I LOVE THAT WOMAN

 

my mom just says its your money and get this my g/f say my RBS in the corner or the bedroom and she said WTH is that for. I said its a RSB for my car she said ok how much was it and i said $115 she was like WTF $115 for a metal bar you are crazy your car looks just fine the way it is I said just wait for the kit and wheels

 

My gf is into cars big time, so I always get her help and support.

 

my girlfriend is cool with it. she knows how much i love my car and how much i want it to be faster. hahaha, even though its my car, i fear my fathers wrath... at least when it comes to exhaust/muffler. if i got an aftermarket muffler i think my father would laugh at me. hes seen his share of ricers on the road with their horrendously loud catbacks.

My mom hates it, and my grandmother gave me some money to replace my suspension.

My dad used to race at Lime Rock, so he likes it, but as he bought a new wife and new life, he doesn't help me out. So, pretty much it's me, and any friends who help me with installs.

Stepmom couldn't care less, other than she thinks I track grease into the house all the time (WTF?! they own a restaraunt and spend most of the time walking around a greasy kitchen floor.. and they blame ME!)

Dad whines and moans about all the $$ I spend on the car, but when I showed him a bigass trophy from IASCA Finals, he hasn't complained since- and even wrote me a check to cover some of the costs it took to get there.

the fiance likes to "play" with the car, but hates the money issue.. "We could buy something nice with that money..."
"Okay. I'll take it back. what would you like to buy?"
"I dunno. but if I wanted to buy something, I'd have the money."

she hates racing or driving more than 2mph over the limit, but when I go to stereo comps, she's there everytime.

 

i just figure, it doesn't really matter if they mind it, as long as it doesn't interfere with anything, do what you like

 

My parents hate it... and they don't even know the extents to which I have gone, and what lies in storage awaiting...but they hate it. My mother actually likes some of the stuff...my dad hates anything that does not involve a house or saving money. Although on more than one occasion he has asked to borrow the car.

My girlfriend, she likes it, she just wants to figure out how to keep up. She knows the extent to which I go for my Max, and actually does try to help me, she was pivotal in getting me to pull the SC out in order to ship to Vortech for the V2 upgrade. She will help with the car, or leave me alone to do what I need to do with the car, and talk about breaking my chops about being lazy sometimes... sheesh... She even did it last night... "The car was down for 2 months.. the engine bay should be spotless...yadda yadda yadda" She wants to see the car in shows, she wants to see me rewarded for all my efforts and she knows that the car can make or break my happiness to a certain extent. In that respect I couldn't ask for more. Now if I could just find MORE time to work on the car I would be all set.

My ex's... errrrrr they dealt with it... none were very supportive, but since they don't pay for my mods they didn't have a leg to stand on.
