Plastic (Bumper, spoiler, etc) care...

What do you guys do to maintain the finish on your bumpers, spoilers, etc. Most waxes that I've seen specifically say not to use them on any type of plastic (which makes me wonder how the hell you'd wax a Saturn).

Can you use a clay bar on them? Polish? Wax? Are the specialty products for them?

I have a "stain" type spot on my spoiler that I want to get off, and the front bumper is always in need of attention.

They may be plastic but they're still painted with the same paint used on the sheet metal.

When you wax, claybar, etc, you're working on the paint so I see no reaosn for it to be different.

It would make sense if they recommend NOT to apply these chemicals on rubber, plastic, etc (e.g., windshield rubber trim, seals, etc) since the chemicals could discolor or damage the plastic & rubber parts.

when they say not to use on plastics, i assume that they mean stuff like the black trim on the side view mirrors.
