3M 77 or 90 work well in my opinion. They are both in the paint section at Lowe's or Home Depot.

I would use a hot glue gun. Much easier to control where you want to glue to be. Spray type is not heavy duty enough.

wouldnt hot glue melt in the summer heat?

doubt it. your car would be on fire by the time the glue will start to melt
