I dont care what car it is never pay MSRP, and how bad you want it. You go in their with the I got to have it attitude they just laugh at you and know you will pay anything!
BMW has their work cut out for them. A car that handles almost as well, looks A LOT BETTER (coupe), faster with a 6 speed tranny, and Infiniti reliability and dealership experience. Times are looking bright for Nissan

As far as depreciation, bmw's are not exactly reknowned for their resale value. People who buy used cars, on the average, are not interested in bmw's and their high service costs. Though Lexus is supposed to have high service costs, and they have the best resale on the market. That must say something about their cars.
Infiniti has the best dealership (according to the last JD Power I looked at) and well above average quality, yet Infiniti resale is almost as bad as Nissan (who has the worst dealer rating I believe). Face it, when people think used cars, they think Lexus, Toyota and Honda.
I think the G is a good bargain, and it will probably sell well. I dont think it will be hot enough to sell at sticker though. The coupe maybe (with the supposed demise of the CL) but I think those of us who want sedans will get good deals on them.

Considering that most people who get on lists for the newest hot cars end up paying markups (e.g., M3, S2000, Odyssey, PT Cruiser, etc.) I am content to "only" pay MSRP. Hell, seems like half the people I know don't even try to haggle on new cars even though they're just buying plain old cars that they could easily get at invoice.
Speaking of the G35, I am in Western Canada and I have seen may be 3 or 4 of those on the road. OTOH, I haven't seen many Altima SE. All the ones I see are the 2.5 and mostly in Silver. Canadian Car of the Year doesn't seem too popular where I live. When they first came out I thought they were nice and looked seriously into them. Now I find the found end ugly like a Civic, and the bad end ugly unlike a Jetta.
G35, hmm yum.
