Pretty good night at the track
I ran 4 times tonight. It was good, the track (cecil county dragway) wasnt too crowded and the track was fairly sticky. My car was very consistent tonight which is good. My handicap includes the damned OEM Y pipe and my full stereo in tow. What changed from last time to this time include the polyurethaned motor mounts, and my new suspension. It definately helped with launching the car. I had almost no problem with wheel spin this time (I guess I'm launching too low), and the wheel hop was not bad and controlled. My times went like this- 15.143 @ 91.96 mph, 15.111 @ 92.02 (I beat a Type R RSX by .004 seconds), 15.059@ 92.09 and 15.055 @ 92.06. My 60 foots were between 2.277 and 2.329, so theres still room for improvement. The temperture was between 80 and 64 degrees.
Since my car finally is posting consistent numbers with a much better launch then before it almost makes me wonder how well the car will run with that Y pipe. Now that variable intake really shines. Makes me think about other stuff like lightened flywheel and UDP as well.
The run against the RSX was interesting alright. We were neck and neck. He beat me off the line with reaction time my .713 to his .625. However his launch was bad (and so was mine) with 60 foots at 2.329 and his at 2.498. From then he had to play catchup. At the 1/8 I was at 9.760 at 73.37 and he was at 9.956 but at 74.18 mph. At the 1000 it was 12.657 vs 12.802. Finally at the end it was 15.111 (me) @ 92.02 vs 15.203 @ 93.67, but because of reaction time I won by .0042 seconds. I NEED THAT VARIABLE INTAKE and my Y pipe back as my MPH is still very low.
