Sensor woes- resistance on a failed knock sensor?

Alright I searched but NOBODY (that I could find) has posted what the resistance the knock sensor is when it fails the resistance test. I tried measuring the resistance on mine today and it was in the neighborhood of 500,000 ohms (its supposed to be 500-600). So either 1) my sensor is shot or 2) my ohmmeter is smoking crack. I will probably pick up a different unit from work or borrow one from a friend. However my CEL has NOT thrown me a KS code.

#2- on my way home from the jersey meet yesterday my engine throws the 0303 code, which is front O2 sensor. Looks like thats probably from doing too many Y pipe /oem Y pipe changes, I mighta busted the sensor. I'm gonna swap the front and the rear so that way I can start isolating things- but if you change 1 O2 sensor, should you change both?

Sure you weren't reading mili-ohms or something? I don't even know if they can...

Check your service manual. That is the correct resistance.

500-600 ohms is supposed to be the correct resistance. I think my meter might be smoking crack. I'm going to get another meter. Either that or just replace the damn thing. The only thing it'll hurt is my wallet though.

Check the manual again. The spec is 500-600 MOhms. Mine checked out okay at ~560MOhms but I'm still suspicious it's causing intermittant power losses and surging.

"M"ega ohms!!! You would be hard pressed to find a multimeter that includes more than 50MOhms. Damn, I just changed my KS and measure the new one... Now I don't remember if it's 500 Ohms or 500k...

560 MOhms is way out of spec...

I'm sorry, you are correct...500-600kOhms. Maybe I should shut up now since I don't have the manual in front of me.

Oops, yup you're right. It is 500-620 K ohms. I guess my KS may be OK then. Now, the O2 sensor.....
