Run in with a 2k2 SE auto

This guy was a jerkoff.

I turned a corner behind him....he punched it out of the corner...so I punched it too....pulled into the right lane...easily passed him and had 2 cars on him by 80....where I shut it down....so I give him a thumbs up....and he flicks me off!!!!!

Some maxima drivers are @ssholes.....

His juice is not hooked up. He beat the 2k2 fair and square. Plus he had an extra passenger. 2k2 Autos arent as fast as 5 speeds IMO.

The 2k2 is .1-.2 faster according to STOCK time slips, big deal. I am referring to a modded 5 speed. That makes it a fair match! Just look at the hp ant tq difference between a 2k2 and 4th gen.

you are comparing apples to oranges an auto to a stick modded to unmodded anyways its a maxima i like em all but all i'm sayin is it takes a modded 4th gen 5spd to beat a 2k2 auto i can't wait for a y-pipe for use 2k2's i am running my car this month i am totally stock hope to be in the 14's but i have never been at the track

Time slips don't matter in street racing. I showed an SVX who's boss last night.

I think that a fully modded 5 speed would give a 2k2 6 speed a hell of a ran. Brian pulled 3 cars on the 2k2 Auto from 20-90, with an extra passenger.

We had a member (with a 2k2 Auto) with us yesterday going to the meet with tranny problems. When he floored it, it would take off slow. Wehn he let up a bit, it made up its mind and decided to drop the gear to accelerate.

something was wrong with that auto then or it was a 2k-2k1 with clear tails and hids plus how do you know it was a 2k2 auto when you didn't even stop each other

Please tell me you guys are joking about Briguy not being able to beat an auto 2k2. Briguy has most of the bolt-ons for a 4th gen plus he's a 5 speed. If I remember correctly, he went 14.6-14.7@95mph+ NA. Most stock and lightly modded 2k2s are in the 14.9s and many are in the lower 15s. Sure, there are some 14.4-14.6 2k2 autos out there, but MOST are in the upper 14s+. Also, look at the trap speeds. 2k2 autos are typically hitting 91-92mph. I can't remember the last time I ever hit 92mph in the 1/4 mile. I'm almost always 95mph. What's that mean? From a roll, the 2k2 auto will get walked.

nothing was wrong...it DEFINITELY was a 2k2...it had 2k2 headlights, taillights, front grille, emblems, wheels...everything...I know it was an auto because we were on a incline right before he turned right and he didn't roll back when he let off the brake...plus if he was a 6-speed...I would have seen his 1-2 shift...I trap 95+ mph down the quarter...I don't see how I couldn't be able to beat a car that traps 91-92mph...

What are you talking about??? Quit making excuses, he raced a 2k2 Auto. Brian has full exhaust, intake, and a UDP as performance mods. We are talking about a stock 5 speed here. I see many 2k2 autos running on average 15 flat. Why is it so hard for you to believe?

no excuses i would race him and i guarantee it would be closer race since the guy flipped him off he probably didn't know what the *** he was doing and left it in od and just floored it plus you post really doesn't make sense(Brian has full exhaust, intake, and a UDP as performance mods. We are talking about a stock 5 speed here.)how is it stock by the way anyways no more flames just a soory driver in the 2k2 to flip someone off for losing plus all the 2k2's in the 15's are first timers at the track and didn't shift manually

hmmmm.....I haven't seen any stock 2k2's on here hitting less than a 15.0-14.8(and one freak 14.58 run), I don't understand why some don't think a modded 5spd 4g with good driver could beat one...eventhough I think the 2k2 has the highend power advantage.

Like Dave B said before...If the 2k2 Auto had the advantage highend it would be shown in trap speeds. The main advantage I see is low end torque

BTW....It doesnt take much skill to drive an auto. Stomp the gas and it downshifts. OD on/of would not have made a difference. Im not knocking autos, but its not like u can miss a shift in a manual tranny.

So every car that punches it, you just assume they want to race. Did he even know you were behind him?. So lets see you are probably right on his bumper at the corner, pass him on the right most likely illegally and you wonder why you got flicked, your right there was a jerkoff there and it wasn't him.

Nice run! Why all the skepticism? Don't be insecure about your car when someone says they killed it. I'd much rather have my 2k2 auto than any 4th Gen and a lot of people would rather have a manual 4th Gen for their own reasons. Nothing to get all huffy over.

You wanna bet. I've never seen a pre-2K2 Max run upper 14s without mods. I ran 14.9XX all day Saturday @ Etown in my 2K2 Auto and I have no mods (unless you count a scheduled oil change and Amoco Ultimate as mods).

Don't get me wrong. I think the automatic 2k2s are lightyears better than the 95-01 autos. If I were to get a 2k2, I'd get a GLE (ie I'd get an auto).

Pulling 10 cars to 120mph against a 2k2 auto in fully modded NA 4th gen isn't going to happen. I'd say 2 cars thru the 1/4 mile is quite possible, maybe a little more, maybe a little less. The advantage of the 2k2 auto vs the modded 4th gen is the torque from 0-70mph. It's kind of like a GTP. Strong in the lowend and a bit slow up top. When Nissan goes to a 5-speed auto in the Max/Altima, the autos will be MUCH quicker due to a much shorter 1st and 2nd gear.
