Painting splash guards

Has anyone painted their splash guards with good results? I want to paint mine black to match the car but am leary of screwing it up. It seems easy to paint them but I don't want it to look like a bad paint job. Anyone with advice?

I bought paint from Paintscratch to do the same thing. You will need to buy flex paint for plastics to avoid chipping. Paintscratch sells Nissan car colors in spraycans for a more pro look.

Had them professionally done at a body shop over a year ago. There still in perfect condition.

Hey Deezo, how did it turn out? Does it look professional?

They don't sell flexpaint, right?
I see no mention at the site..

i'd like to paint mine black as well and i want them to be a glossy black, like the car's paint is...

They do, you need to check off where it asks you if you are painting a bumper or anything flexible. I just checked....but it's not cheap. $30 for the spray can and $15 for primer and another $15 for clearcoat...maybe i'll just get the Pepboy's paint for 5 bucks...kidding, sorta.

The flex agent is in the primer not the paint. It's a 3 step process to get it correct. Well 4 actually if you count the prep time and sanding.

1) Lightly wet sand the entire mud guard with 400 or 500
2) Apply primer with flex agent. I think Standox makes this.
3) Apply 2 coats of base coat.
4) Apply 2 or 3 coats of clear coat.

Allow them to dry really good for a few hours and reinstall.

A body shop should get around 125 bucks to do this job. Takes about an hour or two and supplies are around 40 bucks. The primer with the flex agent is expensive.

They do. I have 3 cans in my trunk. When I get a chance, I'll link you to it.

I haven't painted them yet but I painted my plastic valve cover and it looks professional. I'll post a pic when I get a chance(much work at work).
