Where can I get Folia Tec paint at a good price?

I've finally decided to paint my calipers. With my 17" SSR Integrals, I guess I should have done this much earlier.

I've done a search and it looks like there was a group deal awhile back. Now that the deal is off, where is the best place to get it?

Thanks.

Email Nathan. He's done a few GD's in the past. If he's not currently selling these kits, I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. He's pretty easy to deal with, IMO.

http://www.dsuper.net/~wpps/foliaext.htm 35 bucks.

I wonder why this is better than $4.19 engine paint that comes in many other colors.

It probably isn't better. Maybe it's just packaged and has a name. Doesn't that remind you of Stillen.

My neighbour who's on a somewhat tight budget painted his calipers with high-temp engine paint. He did major prepping with an electric sander & used brake cleaner, etc. Buuuut, after one year, the paint has really faded. I think he re-painted & it faded again in year 2.

I just painted my calipers last Sat. with Foliatec. I'll have to see how it stands up to salt & crap from the roads.

I've had Red Folia Tec paint since last September...nearly 1 year.

When I spray all the brake dust off the calipers with a hose, they look like I just painted them again.

The Folia Tec paint is a high-temp brush on laquer, and keeps it's color and shine ALOT longer than the $5 paint does.

And if it ever does fade, I have enough left to do them again.

Well worth the $$$.

5 coats of red engine enamel seems to be doing fine for about a year now for me. When I find some copper or bronze paint I might redo it in that though

3-4 coats of aluminum paint on mine have held up too. Just clean em off, and they're good as new.

I guess that's the difference...

It only took me 1 coat of Folia Tec, and it dried, blended, and covered perfectly.

I found some Gold FoliaTec paint if you're interested in that.

Here's the link:

I'm debating what color to do mine. I was hoping for a dark green to match the exterior of the car, but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Anyways, the paint is only $43 at that link for the starter of this thread.

Later,
-Nick

If you go to your local autoparts and buy high temp engine enamel for $3.99 you will do great . I have painted many and it lasted for the life of the car if you prep it right. Buy the way you can do about 10 calipers.
