Question for you guys?
I got a 97 Gxe with 45k on it..and a 99 Gxe with 50k on it..I would was thinking maybe I can upgrade to a 2000 or 2001 for say 4-5k and the 97. I found one at my dealership a 2000 with 17k Manual for 18,900. What do u think the dealer would give me for my 97? would he give me 13 in trade or not even close more like 8 or 9?

pretty low miles there....and they'll in turn sell it for around 12k.
and for a 2000 manual for 18,900 is kinda high...but it depends
on where u live...when i was looking for a 2000 last yr with about 19-20k miles and auto..they wanted $16k and $17k for ones with 100k warranty so they can go down on that 2000 max w/MT to about $15-16k...manuals do or suppose to cost less than autos

$13k?? The dealership wouldn't even sell it for that much.
kbb.com states $7,325 for a 97 GXE w/45k auto, and $6,815 for a manual. This is with no extra options added & with the vehicle in "Good" and not "Excellent" condition though. Wouldn't expect any more than $7,500-7,750

If you do decide to trade-in the 97, don't mention it initially. Bargain on the 2k Max, finalize a good deal and once the figures are set, tell the dealer that you want to trade-in the 97. This will definitely get you a better deal than letting the dealer know about the trade-in in advance. Just my $0.02
