Fixed suspension creaking and other probs- but it was not the springs

Recently I've been having trouble with my suspension making noise. I did not have this problem when I first lowered the car. Today I went underneath the car to tighten some of the cat bolts which I thought might have been loose (they were not) and I just so happened to touch one of the front wheels. There was ALOT of play in and out when I jiggled it from top to bottom. I went to the other side and sure enough it did the same thing. Oh no I thought. Worn something. I pulled off the wheel to discover that both my lower steering knuckle to strut bolts were loose. Not loose enough to the point they'd fall off, but loose that it made creaking and groaning noises. I tightened these up and then lowered the car. To my surprise, ZERO noise once again! and I did not change the strut bearings or wrap the struts. Thank god, now I dont have to go thru the pain of using the air compressor with spring compressor. I went out for a drive- the car was less loose feeling and the tires did not squeel around turns so it handled a ton better. There was a good amount of wheel deflection before so I wonder how long its been like that. I think theres even less wheel hop now. Now, the blame must be placed on one of my friends who helped me reassemble my car. Guess he didnt use a torque wrench. From now on I do everything myself, so if i screw up I'll be only to blame.

For a second there, I thought you might have had another problem with your max. Glad to hear something finally went easy for you.
