Mounting my new hood in a different way??
Mounting my new hood in a different way??
Yeah, so we all know I am getting a carbon fiber hood any day now and I was curious as to how to mount the hood but more importantly if anyone knows instructions on how to mount the hood in other ways???
There is always reverse mounting the hood and I have heard rumors that the oldsmobile uses a reverse hood latch and hinge setup but I don't have any info on this...??
I also have interest in this http://www.carandmodel.com/gallery/irev20020525/agk which I really have no idea how the hood gets mounted like that..?
And then on the same idea of the reverse hood but to mount the hood sideways, but that hurts my head to think about..
Any info on mounting the hood in a non stock way would be helpful.. I am trying to not mount it stock just because I like to stand out. I am in north jersey so if anyone knows of someone who is good at these things for a reasonable price in the area, let me know.

what about having it hinge from the passenger or driver side?
Hmm... Maybe there is a problem with that...due to the size of the arms..kinda like in your trunk.
What about having it open just like your trunk... having the arms attached to the hood and then swing upwards and back. That way the arms would not be sticking out so much
Looks to me like the car in the pic hood is not attached, just removed and put on stands. But I could be wrong

good luck doing this with a cf hood...most of the cf hoods i've seen don't even have hood supports because of the pressure on the hood itself

The blue Maxima in the fast & furious had the hood opening backwards, like Saabs and Corvettes. Look that direction.

Jason, I just thought that I would put my .o2 in on this and let you know that you are getting yourself into a whole lot of custom work if you are wanting the hood to open up reverse syle like a Jaguar or Corvette.
By the way, How are things your way? I have been so busy with work that I haven't got much of a chance to get online to chat much lately. Anyway talk to ya later and good luck with the hood!
