N20 question...

whats the highest shot u can run while a S/C is strapped in place, aslo what would u guys say is the biggest shot i can safley go on a 2K1 auto. the tranny will be L10 before any serious mods, yes im the king of overkill its all good. im gonna upgrade to a bigger 255lph fuel pump and 1step colder plugs. or 2step colder plugs if needed. im thinkin 100shots thebiggest block can take w/o building anything up inside. aslo one other thing do the colder plugs in anyway negativley effect daily driving. thanx for any info, and no search didnt provide me with all this info, thankU.

The engine can handle more than 100 shot. I'm waiting to get the J&S safeguard then I'm going up to 125 shot.

Well that is true, the max engine will certainly hold a 125 shot, but I wouldn't recommend that until after you've played with nitrous for quite a while, and I think a direct port system would be alot safer for anything over a 100 shot, like tony has...

The reason, fuel pressure... The stock injectors can lockup if forced over 90 psi of fuel pressure, on a 100 shot, your already at 82-85 psi of fuel pressure, so going over that, you either need to upgrade your injectors, or go to a direct port system, which has it's own fuel injector system and doesn't require such high fuel pressures...

hmmmm all very interesting points. i was comsidering the 100shot of NOS over the S/C due to mainly the cost issue. besides these VQ engines for some reason dont make torque, well not enough anyway, i mean comon 250ft-lbs for a supercharged VQ is about average. a 100 shot of nos put the powe just as high, and throw the torque over the 300 mark, and thats a 3000rpms as well. im just gonna have to wait and see, i still have to get a valve body upgrade and trans cooler before i run anything serious, but after the stock tranny gives out, im probably gonna opt for the L10. either that or ull just figure that the max is gonna cost too much to get the power i want, so ill do all mods and stay N/A and buy my a new ZO6 vette in 2-3yrs

Re: N20 question...

blah run a direct port 100 shot with C16 gas and you should be fine. That is until the stock rods break .

EDIT: C16 is 117 octane for those that didn't know
