Installing air horns to stock switch

im going to be getting some air horns and I did a search but didnt really get much. My question is, what else would I need to install a set of airhorns? Mounting them is not an issue but the wiring to the stock horns is what I need. I believe the kit comes with the air horns, air compressor, relay, and all the hoses/wires. I read about ppl using a switch inside the car to blow the horns, but I would like to have them on hooked to the stock wires somehow. Is there a writeup for this? thanks

I think you just need to disconnect the connector from the stock horns and hook it up to the compressor. It's plug and play. Everything that you need is provided in the kit; you only need the tools and spare time.

When helping my friends install air horns in their cars, We always just cut off the old horn, and hooked up the air horn to the same wires.

No no! Don't do this! You should to hook a relay in to where your stock horns are. Disconect the cable from the stock horn and plug in to the relay. One terminal from the relay goes to 12V via a fuse. The fuse should be about 20A (I think) depending on the compressor you are using. I burnt something out by hooking it up directly and it wasn't just a fuse.

If you hook up directly it will work, but if you have high power horns and hold it for long, bye bye wiring ... or something!

I just installed FIAMM horns this week. Follow the directions to a positive horn, not negative. I also put the horn in the stock spot, and used the stock wires for the switch (took 1 of the stock wires of the 2, and hooked it the the relay input). I have been driving around in the rain for days now (the great Pacific Northwet) and haven;t had any problems with the water. Just make sure that you angle them down, not straight down, but at an angle.

I love those babies!! May sound like a clown car, but it sure scares the heck outta ppl.

yea that site really helped. The FIAMM instructions were basically crapp. Had to buy a new relay since I had everything wired wrong and the relay was cheap it would switch on and off if I shook it.

FIAMM- made in Italy but the instructions were in spanish
