Sort of a kill...Me vs a friend's IS300 off the line
Sort of a kill...Me vs a friend's IS300 off the line
I went with two of my friends to see Minority Report last night. One of the guys is only 17, and he has an IS300. I've been teasing him about racing for a while now. Anyway, after the movie, they wanted to hit up Taco Hell, so I went along. On the way, we were alone side-by-side at a stoplight. I rolled my window down and asked my friend if he wanted to run. He said sure.
I didn't know it at the time, but my friend riding shotgun in the IS was trying to tell the driver that I knew the light timing. He tried to tell him when to go, but It was too late. I saw the other light change to red, and counted to three. The light changed on three, I gunned it and got close to a half carlength on him. The speed zone was only 35mph, so I shut down at 40, but I held my lead up 'til then.
I just wish I hadn't lined up on the paint. That would have saved me some wheelspin.
I guess it wasn't really a 'kill,' and I didn't 'smoke' him, but I was just glad to beat him off the line.

40, yeah ull beat him, btw are u 5 spd? run him 100+ and he'll probably walk u, those things are quick if they use the manual shift buttons.
I'm an autotragic...
Stock except for a K&N drop-in. At best, I had a 10hp disadvantage, but a slight advantage in torque.
The IS was autotragic too. I've ridden with the guy only once, but I've never seen him mess with the manumatic buttons. He doesn't really know how to drive. He just likes to cruise and pretend he's hard, blasting rap music out the windows. Last night he had Bone Thugs 'n Harmony. Does anyone even listen to them anymore?

it all depends on the driver, i think most 4th gens can walk those guys if the is300 is left in D, but when they manually shift and redline, was over 4 me =) That TT is the best i've seen yet as far as performance.
