Carbon Fiber hood install... little help here folks..

I am pretty sure the hood sits too high because it doesnt go to the bottom of the latch and i have put the latch as high as it would go with the distance in the stock holes.

Should I drill the holes in the latch bigger so that I can set the latch up higher and the hood can fully come down or is there something crucial i am missing?? Or do I need to move the latch down, right now the hood sits up to high and when i push it down it wont latch?

Also, I only have 1 allen bolt on each side of the hood because the kid i got the hood from either didnt have them or forgot to put them in the box, either way there is only one on each side instead of two and i want to know where i can get 2 more and if they are critical to just getting the hood to latch..??

Thanks, hood pins should be fun, if anyone has tips on put the pins in the sub frame connector let me know, www.maximadriver.com doesnt have any pictures or much info on that.

get in touch with tilleys99..

i had his hood on my car for a while .. it sticks up on the sides ..

you have to grind below the latch to make it go down futher so the sides of the hood line up with the body panels.

down is the way you had to go? i think i have to move the latch up..

the hoods needs about 1/4" more to go down to latch, and i think if i move the latch up and keep it where it is now on the hinges it should be fine..

i got the hood pins in okay, but no latching yet..

its actually pretty simple.. the latch thing could be due to a lot of things.. ie:

1st gen FI CF hood had a big oversized latch, caused me to file into my SE grill.

2nd gen FI CF hood has right latch, fits w/o filing..

all of them dont fit right from the side, you gotta tweak with your fender & latch to makem line up.. sucks a nut .. specially since i havent done it yet, and my clear or whatever is fading at a corner.

damn its my 2nd one too.

Hi Dave,

You missed the meet with Matthel...

I should check out your CF hood... Mine is still in the box in my garage. You still interested in the S/C Pulley swap? I should be doing it soon.
