So ... what kind of wing is this?

Saw it on the highway on Sunday. The wing on the Max on the right looks like an Accord wing, doesn't it? It actually looks pretty decent.

The wing on the left is stock just for comparison.

It was strange ... two Maxes, both semi-debadged, uncleared tails, but clear corners in front.

The Max on the left had chrome 20's and was riding 4x4 style. The Max on the right was riding stock.

umm u guys... HELLO why do we put wings/spoilers on maximas anyway? the car is a freakin front wheel drive so a wing won't do it's job when placed on a maxima

True, but do you think the little lip spoiler on a Q45 really improves downforce? And there's a difference between a spoiler and a wing - wings are to provide real downforce, spoilers are for look, and IMO they look great on the Maxima.

they're understandable on maximas as long as they're not exaggerated, for ex:, i saw a max down the shore this past weekend with that huge *** terminator 2 wing, hmmm unfortunately, it made that maxima an official ricer

You are correct. No reason for a wing on the back to keep the rear wheels planted, but it does help the car's stability at high speeds, no matter if it IS front-wheel drive. Plus, it's a cosmetic feature. In most people's eyes, and mine, a small, swoopy spoiler like on the Max is very sporty looking, and the Max is supposed to look sporty. I like the spoiler a lot!

it looks eh, it pretty much just doesnt have the two supports that are sligtly off center. If i didnt own a maxima i wouldnt even notice any difference from all the rest of the other maxima's on the road.

It does look camryish

umm I guess thats why in all the post on this thread the comments were on how good it looks and not how much it helps at high speeds.

Much cleaner than the stock spoiler. The stock spoiler is too skinny to have those 2 middle supports, although because we are so used to them, we don't pay attention.. I think that looks great. Amazing how it fits so nice too..

Ok, im not tryin to prove anyone wrong or anything, but look at the picture of the two maximas with different spoilers. Tell me if you find this weird like I did. If you look at the maxima on the left it casts its shadow on the right of the car, you can see the antenna on the pavement also, the white maxima does the same. This means the sun shining from our left and the drivers left. However, if we look to the off ramp there seems to be a shadow from a branch. The shadow seems to be cast to the left of the branch, and also right above the middle of the roof on the white maxima, there seems to be another branch, this would mean the sun would have to be shining from our right and the drivers right side. Maybe I'm a psycho, but for some I reason I studied this picture and just found that odd. Wow I'm bored....

In your profile you list clear bumper lights and a body kit coming. Do those perform a purpose?

Hahah I laughed my head off when I saw the wing on the Lexus and that Pontiac!

anyway, I like the stock spoiler too. I really like the flared edges on the stock spoiler...it fits the characteristics of the 4th gen (95-95 btw) perfectly.

body kits(not all, but for a maxima) and bumper lights purpose: looks.

the spoiler for the max is also pretty much looks, no family sedan will ever really NEED a spoiler be it front, rear, or all wheel drive.

this thread is so lame. The stock wing on the SE 4th gen isn't heavy; it's there to add to the "sportiness" look, and at light speeds, the airflow in/around it can stabilize the rear of the car a bit.
