Pin Stripe

This sucks.. I wanted to take off the pin stripe that is on my car, that was on there when i bought it, and i can't.. Some jacka.ss clear coated over it or something.. Does anyone got any ideas?? Even if I can't remove it, maybe can replace it with a different color or design or something.. My car's black, silver rims, silver emblems (i put them on, I didn't like the gold), the dam.n pin stripe is gold and I just got my windows tinted so now you can't see the tan interior so the stripe is a major eye sore if ya ask me..
Any Ideas are greatly appreciated!!!

Take it to a professional, they should be able to take it off for under $30 - even if it is painted.

Then you're going to the wrong places. Any honest and good body shop can take it off in a second. All they use is like a big eraser and run it down the side. Yes, there will be a little discrepancy (sp?) in paint color but that is 100% normal and will come out with time and waxing.

I know exactly what you are talking about. Dont mess with it. There is no way around the fact that the clear coat will have to be removed to get the stripe off in this case. You are looking at a mess no matter what. Anyone body shop that charges $30 to remove a pinstripe underneath clearcoat would have to be crazy. It will never look the same with the clearcoat missing. I say this from experience
(97 Accord, 97 Cherokee) owned by my friends.

If the stripe was on the outside of the clearcoat, a hairdryer and bug and tar remover would work perfect. But no dice here I guess.
