K&N vs Monsterflow - the results
Steve, Brian C, and Place Racing have all endorsed the Monsterflow filter for various reasons. Some said +4hp, some said different.
In the neverending quest for N/A power I decided to find out for myself.

Both filters are equal as far as performance.
It's so even it could be the pulls or +/- dyno precision we see.
Thanks Kloogy for the filter!
Thanks hawks25 for dynoing with me!
Thanks APG for taking my $ and getting rid of the color dyno printer

thanks for doing the work, im sure we all appriciate it.
i think that I would take the K&N over the monster flow because of a few reasons, 1. the K&N looks better 2. I trust K&N and 3. it just doesnt seem like the monster flow does that good of a job compared to the K&N.
thanks again

Thanks for taking the time and spending the money to do this. With the K&N being proven as far as filtration and quality there is now really no reason to use the Monsterflow.
I checked your car domain page and profile but couldn't find what type of intake you are using or what you used for the test. Do you have a CAI, pop style, or a hybrid style? Did you use any type of velocity stack for the K&N for this test?

okay, okay, calm down. It's not a bad filter, but personally I wouldn't use it in my own car.

It is a well known rule of thumb that foam is a big no no when it comes to filtration. Hey, maybe the Monster Flow filters are better than K&N, but until they prove themselves over time it's a null argument. If you are using one, keep using it.

Thanks BEJAY1. As you have now conclusively proven that neither filter can claim a performance advantage over the other, it's simply a matter of which one filters better. To the best of my knowledge, the MF has never been tested for its filtration capabilities. Also, the MF uses an unknown "tackifying agent", so it's virtually impossible to compare its filtration capabilities to any other known filter.
I, for one, am not comfortable in using untested air filters. So for now at least, I'll stick to my K&N.
