One of the best ways is to get your hands dirty by working on your own car. There are a large number of instructions posted that tell you how to do routine and some not routine maintenance. You can start out with the Haynes service manual and possibly purchase the Nissan Service manual. I use the Forum as my Maxima Primer, I can't begin to tell you how much I have learned by reading the Forum daily. Not only is it fun but also very satisfying to do it yourself. Oh, you can some decent money along the way! Think of it this way, there are hundreds of Maxima Holics that will help you keep your ride running 1st Class!

If you are really serious and have the time to spare, look into your local community college and take some automotive classes.

They love it if you can come over and build a closet, install new cabinets, etc. Problem is they usually have a jealous husband too....heheh
