I installed the big a$$ 3Z fuel filter.

My 2nd autozone fuel filter had 70,000 miles, so I got myself a 300z filter. That thing costs $20.
Anyways, the car seems to pick up better on highway speeds. And I can't explain this, but the 1-2 shift on my auto tranny became really smooth. Before I got the new filter, there was a slight jerk going into 2nd, almost like the VB mod. But now, the 1-2 shift is very transitional and smooth. I can't even feel it shifting into 2nd anymore. I'm serious. I dont know how to explain it.

Well, you cant compare an OEM dirty filter to a 300z clean filter.

You have to compare clean to clean...

I'm serious. I put 120,000 miles in my car in 4 years, so I know my car. The new fuel filter really smoothed my tranny.. I am very perplexed..

Wouldn't it be the same if you replaced it with a brand new OEM Maxima filter?
